You were born with a body that knows how to balance itself at the right weight. Why and when did you teach it something different? Your body knows already how to eat perfectly. Imagine regularly putting ten gallons of petrol into your car three times a week, whether it needs topping up or not. If your lifestyle was such that your car consumed about thirty gallons a week, you may get into the habit of regularly topping up on that basis.

However, if you had a week when you didn't use your car, you wouldn't pump gallons of petrol into a fuel tank and watch it spill over onto the forecourt. Or would you start on a long trip on an empty tank and hope it kept going? Would you then try to cram thirty gallons into a twenty gallon tank when it was empty? Of course not! Our body is like a car but it only ever has one engine and needs a steady supply of the right fuel to work efficiently.

You can look at the process as "over-eating" or "under-acting" or a combination of the two. The result of putting more energy into your body than you use is overweight. The health risks associated with being overweight are well known. Carrying around excess baggage puts a strain on just about every muscle and organ in the body. Think of the extra weight on your body as stored energy - that's exactly what it is. All that energy is there for you to accomplish what you want. Don't think of the process of LOSING weight but USING WEIGHT.

If we only ate when we were hungry, few of us would have any weight concerns. It is not about the food; rather is is about what we use food for. Many people use food to regulate their mood and energy levels. Think about it - either you are trying to calm down, as in self-soothing, or you are trying to raise your mood and energy levels using food. We typically invest too much time and energy into the external process of what we should or shouldn't eat, or how many calories or carbohydrates food contain. We don't spend enough time or energy on the internal process of discovering what feelings are driving the eating.

By creating a "guilt free and naturally slim attitude" a "naturally slim and guilt free body" will follow. Remember what you mind can conceive your body can achieve.
