JIKIDEN REIKI TREATMENT

Jikiden Reiki is the original, authentic form of the Japanese energy healing technique.

 Reiki (pronounced Ray-Kee)  means

  1. Universal Energy {the vital energy that exists around and within all living things.}

  2. Effective method for the treatment of any illness of body and mind

& is a system of natural hands-on healing  originating in Japan developed by Dr Mikao UsuiDr Mikao Usui early in the 20th century. Jikiden Reiki means "directly taught" in Japanese. It has a history that goes back further than Westernised forms. However it has only became available in the West since 2003.

Jikiden Reiki is significantly different to 'Western' Reiki. It  Some factual aspects are different but also there is a real difference one senses in the 'feel' of the energy. There is no routine approach to treatment, no set hand positions and it includes original techniques that are often missing from other Western Reiki styles - such as the "Blood Rejuvenation" technique.

Who can have a treatment?

Reiki's gentle energy may be used safely by people of all ages, including the newborn, pregnant mothers, surgical patients, the frail and the elderly.

How safe is it?

Reiki is a gentle yet powerful complementary therapy that may be used with confidence alongside orthodox healthcare. As such it expands treatment options. Reiki is now often seen in many hospitals, hospices and is widely used in palliative healthcare. Reiki is not, however, an alternative to conventional medicine and is not intended to be a substitute for any medical, hospital or psychiatric treatment. A Reiki practitioner will not diagnose any condition or recommend any form of treatment.

What happens during a session?

A Reiki treatment is non-diagnostic, non interventionist, non-manipulative and no pressure is applied. A session is usually carried out with the recipient lying down on a couch, or sitting down in a comfortable and peaceful environment. There is no need to remove any clothing as Reiki energy will pass through anything including plaster casts.

The practitioner gently places their hands on or over the body in a sequence of positions and is a channel which the energy is drawn through by the need or imbalance in the recipient. The recipient automatically draws in only as much energy as is needed, using it in whatever way is most appropriate at the time. Neither person has to use any effort of will or concentration during the treatment. The whole person is treated rather than just specific symptoms.

How long does a treatment last?

A full treatment usually takes 1 hour with each position held for several minutes.

What will I feel during a treatment?

Reiki may be experienced as a flow of energy, mild tingling, warmth, coolness, twitches, crying, laughter, stomach rumblings, other sensations or nothing at all. The most common element experienced is one of deep relaxation and usually a feeling of warmth in the particular areas of the body. It is most typical to experience a blissful, euphoric feeling that enables you to sink into a deeper state of relaxation. It is not uncommon to fall asleep or into a 'Reiki slumber'. Treatment is no less effective when the recipient has slept through it entirely. It may be just what is  required!

What happens after a treatment?

Following a treatment, many people feel rather dreamy and relaxed and may need to sit down for a while to become grounded again. It is recommended that at least a glass of water is drunk following treatment as toxins are loosened after treatment that need flushing through the system. Ideally liquid intake, preferably water, should be increased considerably over the 24 - 48 hour period following treatment. The beneficial effects of Reiki may be felt for several days.

How many treatments will I need?

Even one single Reiki session may make a difference. However a course of regular treatments may be more effective. These could be weekly, fortnightly or less often depending on individual needs. A treatment plan will be discussed with you and reviewed as necessary. This will always be subject to your own preferences and can be changed at any time in line with your progress.

CLIENT FEEDBACK
Hi Maria
Your healing was "AMAZING". I found myself walking into situations I have been putting off for months, either through fear or lack of self belief. You said I had blocks around my knees and feet and you worked around those areas removing/freeing the blocked energy. You said after you were sure I would be able to move forward. Well since the healing I have felt at stronger sense of self and have had more energy especially creatively ... I have felt stuck for about 2 years and have not been able to put my creative talents to use. Thank you so much for freeing me up, it feels so great getting myself back on track
